Coming from a family with prosperous Theatre actors, Kaushal started acting since the age of 4. His Father- Mr. Sundaraiah Garu and Grandfather- Mr. Simhachalam Garu were tremendous actors and the same was passed down to Kaushal as well. He always looked upto his parents as role models.

Kaushal never took up acting classes or courses; he always had it in him and one might even say- Genetics.

His first ever act was for a theatre play- Evanni Chedununchu- at the age of 4. This got him his first ever award as the 'All India Best Child Artist.'

He took up every opportunity possible and his ambitions were straight from his childhood itself. Even at school, he was a top-notch student who participated in all the activities. He produced, directed, and acted in the interschool competitions and almost always won. Winning has always been second nature to him, it came out naturally.

When he first arrived Hyderabad in the year 1989, he came to participate in a contest called 'Star 2000' which was an audition for the film- Pardesi. Out of 5 lakh applications, only 10 people were selected and Kaushal was one among them. Other actors also included  Mr. Sumith and Mr. Sivaji.

Fortunately, Kaushal's first film- Sri Sai Mahima- was a story based on the divine Sai Baba. Kaushal was grateful to have acted as Sai Baba's nephew in the film.

His second role itself was a major one as Mahesh Babu's friend in the film Rajukumarudu. From then the graphline of his acting career only seemed to reach heights as he acted in 82 films.

On people's demand, he also took up roles in television dramas. His first ever TV serial was Chakravakam. His role as Sagar brought him the 'Best Debut Actor' and 'Best Villain' awards. Later, he continued doing serials like 'Devatha,' and 'Radhika.' In the serial 'Radhika' he acted along the lead film star Mrs. Radhika Sarath Kumar Garu. He acted around 10 serials for all the major Channels.

But after 2011, Kaushal gave a break to his acting career to concentrate better on his business.

But he came back with the serial 'Suryavamsam' in the year 2017 and yet again proved that he is one of the finest actors. He earned the award as 'Best Villain.'

Recently, he has announced that he would leave the small screen to be able to concentrate more on the Silver Screen roles. Talking about acting, Kaushal mentioned that Acting is one of his biggest passions and that he would continue doing it for all his life. He also promised himself that he would prove to be the best in the said field.
